Altec Magnificent bass horn components

Hello,

I have the bass horn parts from a pair of Magnificents that I need to find a home for (15" woofer). Very good condition, and perhaps perfect for that project you have in mind. I imagine these are fairly complex to make on your own. I'm in the south SF Bay Area if you want to pick up locally. If you are not local and seriously interested, then I can box up and check shipping cost. I really don't want to recycle these....

No love for a correct set of horn flares?

These are a bitch to build correctly, and the most difficult part of a VOT build to get right.

Too bad these are just about as far away from me as they can get without leaving the country. They would inspire an "truncated VOT" or "improved 816" build for me.

Somebody closer than upstate NY should really take the OP up on these.

I agree it would be a shame to let these go to waste. If they were closer to Florida, I would definitely contact the OP and pick them up.

If no one here bites, maybe post them on Craigslist? I know people love anything Altec.

I put a single 816 clone cab on CL free section. It was picked up within an hour

That looks like some fantastic project material - with so much tricky work done, it comes with built-in motivation.
What sort of price are you asking ?

We are talking free pickup, or shipping charges. Hopefully someone will want to get them to use them...... Just moving them from my storage area to yours does not necessarily progress them to getting used, and it prevents someone that wants to use them from getting them.

I will have to find a big box, pack them up, weigh them, and figure shipping. A fair amount of work, so PLEASE make sure really want them. My guess is that each is one or two pounds, so figure maybe 8 pounds plus box and packing. Shipping will not be real cheap....... Not trying to discourage, but just trying to be realistic.
